Before there were Museums,
there wre Malls. When the
adventures and colonialists
returned home with
cultural material and knicknacks,
they displayed them
in 'cabinets of curiosity'.
Later, this idea of exhibiting
interesting objects developed
into the Museum.
Luggage reminds us of Travel and
the bringing back of found objects
which are recontextualized
or re.cycled
into an Island to be place
in University Mall with
its Sandwhich Display of oddities.
Thus, we must call it
Sandwich Island
in honor of far away places
we may never visit.
